WestLand Resources, Inc. (WestLand) was retained by Rosemont Copper Company to conduct surveys for Coleman’s coralroot (Hexalectris colemanii) and Arizona crested coralroot (Hexalectris arizonica) (Orchidaceae) across southeastern Arizona in 2012 (Figure 1). In 2010, WestLand conducted surveys for these species in several mountain ranges as part of baseline resource studies to support permitting of the proposed Rosemont Copper Project in the northern Santa Rita Mountains (WestLand 2010). Surveys were also conducted in 2011 (WestLand 2012). The goal of the surveys conducted in 2012 was to determine the range of H. colemanii in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.
