WestLand Resources Inc. (WestLand) biologists visited Cienega Creek on October 26-28, 2011 and November 03, 2011, to evaluate the quality and nature of the riparian vegetation present within the areas identified below. WestLand’s evaluation focused on general observations of the riparian zone from near the confluence of Cienega Creek and Gardner Canyon downstream to the USGS stream gauge at the Pantano dam near the confluence of Cienega Creek and Agua Verde Creek (Figure 1). We did not access Cienega Creek upstream of its crossing with SR82 (Reach 1, Figure 1). To ease our description of select points along Cienega Creek, WestLand also identifies river miles (RM) starting at the upstream extent of Cienega Creek as depicted by USGS 1:100,000 topographic metric maps (Fort Huachuca, AZ, 31110-E1- TM-100, 1994).
