- Federal Candidate Species
- Sensitive wildlife species currently under consideration for inclusion to the list of federal threatened or endangered species.
- Federal Listed Species
- Animal or plant species listed by the USFWS or NMFS as threatened or endangered.
- FEIS
- Final Environmental Impact Statement
- Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS)
- The iteration of an environmental impact statement used as the basis for the decisions documented in a Record of Decision.
- Flotation
- The general term for the system of achieving separation of metallic mineral grains from ground-up ore using the mineral’s propensity to adhere to air bubbles in a water bath. Air is bubbled through the ground ore slurry; the metallic mineral grains adhere to the air bubbles and are skimmed off the surface of the slurry. Various chemicals are used to enhance the process.
