- Leaching
- The process by which a soluble metallic compound is extracted from ore by dissolving the metals in a solvent.
- Leakage
- The discharge of water or process solution from a lined facility or engineered containment.
- Listed Species
- Any species that occurs on a state or federal threatened or endangered species list.
- Lithic Scatter
- A scatter of chipped stone materials, which may include fragments, flakes, or stone tools.
- Locatable Mineral
- Any mineral that can have a mining claim filed on it under the Mining Law of 1872, as amended (e.g., copper, gold, silver).
